The Magic of Phillips Hue Lighting

It began with an advertisement for a television show, Twelve Monkeys. Smart light bulbs that you can control with your phone could change color to the action on the screen. How cool would that be?
It turned out that we lost interest in the show and found out the real benefit of these bulbs is to create ambient light throughout our home.
Phillips Hue bulbs and light strips can change color and be dimmed to create any mood you want. If you are movie buffs or enjoy the Golden Age of Television, being able to have colored dim lights like a movie theater is pretty cool. If you like throwing parties, you can give your space the feeling of a posh nightclub.
You can download light scenes that people create by adjusting every bulb’s hues or pulling out colors from photos. The room can go from icy, cold whites and blues to the warmest golds and oranges. You can turn the room into a productive area to concentrate and work in, or you can create a relaxing chill room.
There are iPhone applications that allow you to sync lights to music. You can have colors change to the beat. You can turn your lights on while you are away to make it look like someone is home. People are programming the lights to turn blue when the temperature gets cold, or warm red when it gets too hot.
At sixty dollars a bulb and ninety per light strip, the hue light system is a significant investment.  These are LED lights so they have a longer lifespan than an average lightbulb and consume less energy.
